Dubai surprises families with 40 free events in August

Destinations across Dubai have unveiled a schedule of events featuring more than 40 new art shows and entertainment events within malls during the second half of Dubai Summer Surprises 2024, organised by Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment, where residents and visitors can take advantage of amazing promotions offered by major brands in malls and retail destinations, while enjoying free access to music performances and entertainment events with family and friends.

City Centre Mirdif offers a range of fun entertainment events for its family visitors. The latest addition to the DSS schedule in August, the Kung Fu Panda show will take place three times a day until 4 August. The mall will also host an all-new show by the winning team of the World Bungee Jumping Championship on 24 and 25 August. Meanwhile, young people, digital sports enthusiasts and technology enthusiasts can take part in the daily Game Festival at City Centre Mirdif, which celebrates Dubai's vibrant digital gaming culture through the participation of celebrities, sponsors and leading gaming event organisers.

  • Performing Arts
    Visitors to Mall of the Emirates can enjoy the all-new Mob Rock and Roll Flash
    Show on 10 and 11 August, presented by a group of performing arts and acrobatic professionals. The iconic Imagine Music and Lights Show at Dubai Festival City Mall is back in full swing for the summer season. Visitors to the mall can also watch new and exciting shows every DSS weekend, including a violinist show on 10 and 11 August, an acrobatic trampoline jumping show on 17 and 18 August, and a vintage vacation show on 31 August and 1 September.
  • Circus Shows
    Visitors can enjoy Mercato's signature summer surprise shows with free circus entertainment shows and a fun skating experience that runs until 1 September.
    Families and friends can watch the new entertainment shows of the wonderful European Circus Harlequin, the magic comedy show by John Audrey, and everyone's favorite sleight of hand show by Magic Ville. In addition, children can enjoy participating in special creative workshops. Visitors to Nakheel Mall can enjoy the Ice Cream Geisters on 17 and 18 August, featuring a group of artists dressed in costumes that mimic ice cream shapes, various sweets and syrups, making a great canvas for shoppers.
  • Flower Show
    Ibn Battuta Mall will offer visitors a touring flower show on August 10 and 11. Meanwhile, the Astrolab sessions, which take place from August 16 to September 1, help children unleash their creativity in building robots, Lego, 3D printing, and Minecraft activities. The touring entertainment will move to Circle Mall on August 17 and 18. Summer at City Walk is more fun than ever during Dubai Summer Surprises, with the iconic destination hosting a range of indoor entertainment performances by guitarists and cellists on 10, 11, 24 and 25 August. Shoppers visiting The Outlet Village can enjoy a touring dessert show on 17 and 18 August. Visitors can look forward to a lot of fun activities and events during DSS until 31 August at the city's most popular destinations and attractions, including Al Khawaneej Walk, Last Exit Al Khawaneej, Last Exit Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Last Exit Al Qudra, Seef and Box Park, where friends and families can enjoy entertainment music events, and take advantage of exclusive offers on dining, shopping, beauty products, entertainment and much more.
  • Celebrate with Modhesh
    Modhesh is celebrating his 25th anniversary this year and invites family and friends to meet him in shopping malls across the city over the weekends. Modhesh and Dana will head to Dragon Mart and Dubai Parks and Resorts on 3 August, followed by The View at the Palm and Circle Mall on 4 August. The two beloved characters will be seen inside Roxy Cinemas at Dubai Hills Mall on August 7, Ibn Battuta Mall and Dubai Festival Plaza on August 10, and Mall of the Emirates on August 11. Modhesh and Dana will be featured at City Centre Mirdif and Dubai Festival City Mall on 17 August, then at City Centre Deira and City Centre Al Shindagha on 18 August, then wrap up the month with a visit to City Centre Me'aisem and Al Barsha Mall before returning to Mall of the Emirates, Circle Mall, Dragon Mart and The View at the Palm by the end of the month.
